About Dr. Esther Cole
I am HCPC registered, BPS accredited and a professionally insured Clinical Psychologist working in the NHS and private practice. I have worked in multi-disciplinary teams with clients with a range of mental and physical health, neurological conditions, challenging behaviour and cognitive problems, with very positive results since 2008 (qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2013).
I tailor make all therapies to the person, child, young person or organisation’s needs and draw on the best available evidence. This could mean offering a combination of different therapies such as CBT, systemic and narrative approaches or integrating several therapeutic methods until we feel we are making progress.

Chartered Psychotherapist & Child Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (he/him)
I believe therapy provides a safe, confidential space to explore challenges, gain new perspectives, and create positive change. It can help improve how people feel about themselves, their relationships, and support healthier patterns for the future.
I’m a UKCP accredited Child Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with over five years’ experience, and have completed integrative psychotherapy training with adults at TACT (Therapy & Counselling Teesside), with 500+ hours of adult client work. I’ve also completed DDP Level 1 and 2 training and am developing my use of DDP principles in practice.
My background includes a degree in Sports Coaching and Sports Psychology, reflecting my passion for sport and belief in the connection between physical and mental wellbeing. I have over 10 years’ experience working with children and young people — first as a sports coach and primary school teacher, before moving into therapy.
I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, loss, self-harm, depression, domestic violence, and relational difficulties. I use a relational, integrative approach and believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to meaningful growth.
