Dr Kate Kamson
Clinical Psychologist (she/her)
I am a qualified Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working with children, families and adults with mental health difficulties, in the community and inpatient settings.
My work involves supporting others to manage depression, anxiety, trauma, learning disabilities, neuro-developmental disorders and family issues. I have experience of working with adults to explore their current challenges around low confidence and self-esteem. I have also worked a lot with families who have struggle to connect around diagnoses and traumatic life events.
I have had the invaluable experience of working with marginalised groups and those with who use English interpreters to increase access to mental health support. I am trained in Family Therapy (level 2); Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (level 1) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (level 1). I further use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative approaches and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my work.
I work in a person-centred way, taking into account how individuals like to be supported. I bring a warm, compassionate and empathic style to therapy, working in collaboration in order for children, families and adults to reach their goals.
