About the event

Come and join a 30-minute live session on ‘Diffusing Anger’!

Anger is a powerful emotion that people feel from time to time when someone or something frustrates or annoys them. One of the roots of anger is the Greek word ankhone meaning 'a strangling', which is ironic given the way anger can sometimes make us feel!

Anger is an emotional state that can come in for a lot of judgment from ourselves and from other people. It might be an unpleasant emotion to experience, perhaps culturally discouraged, but we do need anger. Raaaah! It’s an important tool which we can learn to exercise in a kind, healthy and productive way, as it can help inform and protect.

These sessions aim to look at the following topics around Diffusing Anger: identifying and defining anger; bodily sensations around anger; challenging anger and negative thoughts; being assertive, not aggressive; alongside informative techniques to use as helpful takeaways.

Nick Shallow is a qualified and UKCP accredited Child Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. He is also completing a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy with adults at TACT (Therapy & Counselling Teesside).
